Striving for excellence in equity is all about doing the right thing for our students.

We help K-12 School Leaders and Organizational Staff to Achieve their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Goals.

Founder's Words

It always intrigued me when young people viewed experiences with their teachers and principals as uncaring or culturally insensitive.

During the past 13 years, I’ve worked as a K-12 educator, teacher educator, nonprofit director, and now, as a school diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant. Through this experience and in developing my teaching and leadership style, I continue to see the ongoing need to educate students in ways that value their backgrounds and experiences, while affirming their cultural identities.

Because here’s what I know to be true:
When we start with improving the foundational relationship between teacher and student, everyone wins.

Benefits of Pursuing DEI Training

From Overwhelm to Renewed Hope

With limited or non-existent DEI strategies and planning, an institution might look like:
Teacher and staff retention issues | Staff feeling they’re eaten alive by their students | Parents defaming you or your staff | Pedagogical DEI ideas feel too ambitious | Constant worry for how to protect your most vulnerable students | Feelings of overwhelm, exhaustion and mental drain | Students falling below grade level

DEI training unlocks a variety of benefits inside and outside the classroom, including:

  • More open, authentic relationships between teachers, students and parents
  • An increase in student engagement
  • Implementing a practical, action-oriented DEI plan
  • Understanding how to help students climb out of the achievement gap
  • Setting a positive role model for all students
  • Improving the sense of belonging for students
